SPRINT NEXTEL WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPORTING OPEN ACCESS TO THEIR SNPP MESSAGING GATEWAY
How does this impact my organization?
Emergin does not support SNPP Authentication.
You will no longer be able to send SNPP messages.
Solutions:
(1) Replace Emergin with a comparable product that does support SNPP Authentication. (recommended)
(2) Replace Emergin with a comparable product that supports both (1-way) and (2-way) SMS messaging, bypassing SNPP and SMTP.
(3) Sprint Nextel will continue to support SMTP for now, but this protocol is not the most reliable means of communication, especially for emergency alerts.
ALERTIFY WIRELESS has identified a replacement product, and has tested and validated both SMS functionality, as well as SNPP Authentication. Contact ALERTIFY WIRELESS to discuss your options.
